Join with a friend
Accountability is HUGE. We encourage you to join with a friend and connect daily about the journaling prompts and what comes up for you. Ultimately we want to use the community here to connect, share and encourage each other, but currently we don’t have a seamless way to integrate a feedback mechanism without you having to sign up for an external platform. This might just be my personal beef, but I hate signing up for one thing, and then having to sign up for/use something else like facebook, discord, etc.
Schedule your time
Set aside the same time each day to review the course material and journal. Add it to your calendar and make sure you don’t miss this meeting with yourself.
Use the emails to help you
Each day you’ll receive an email directing you to the course content. I’m a person who likes to keep a clean inbox, and anything left unread is an item that needs attention. This can be a great way to stay on top of the daily content.
Keep your journal handy
If you keep your journal somewhere handy, it can act as a physical reminder to do the work. Place it somewhere prominent that will get in your way. Maybe it’s on top of the coffee maker, next to your toothbrush, or on top of your car keys. Set it up as a type of habit stacking. Put your journal by something that you always do every day, something that’s already a habit and stack your journaling habit with it.
Follow the no-two days rule
Now even with all these tips, you might still slip up. It happens. Life is busy and unpredictable. BUT if you do find that you miss a day, give yourself grace for that day, BUT get right back on the horse! Set a rule that you can not miss two days in a row. When you miss a day, you have the choice if you want to do the activities of both days in one day, or you can just continue on doing one day at a time and being a day behind - that’s okay too!
Finish strong
Commit to yourself that you’re going to finish all seven days. Whether it takes you seven days or twelve, you will finish!
READY?
Let’s go!!!!!
