Restorative practices use props to help support the body to allow full and deep relaxation. The idea is that by using blocks, bolsters, pillows, blankets and more to support the body, we can receive the benefits of the poses, without having to do as much work, allowing for deep rest and relaxation.

Because you might be dipping your toe in the water, or maybe you just don’t have the space to store the props, or the cash to buy them (bolsters are surprisingly expensive!) here are some modifications and swaps you can make for everyday items you already have.
