WHAT IS RESOLUTION?

Resolution is The Beat’s signature strength training class. It uses weights and bodyweight as resistance to strengthen the major muscle groups of the body.

MORE Q&A:

I’ve never done it before, can I still join?

YES! Whether you’ve taken resolution with us or not, all are welcome. As I teach, I will give you variations to try to make things more challenging, or to scale back - based on what you need. I’m always going to tell you to do what works for your body, which means that if you have an injury or something just doesn’t feel right, you can modify the movement, or sit some things out.

Do I need to have the equipment from the studio?
No. I will be using the barbell set while teaching, but all exercises can be performed with any form of external resistance (weights).

What equipment do I need?

You’ll need some form of weights. That might be a barbell like we used in studio, or a set of dumbbells. I generally recommend having 2 sets - one heavy, one lighter. Something like 3 & 5lbs if you’re starting out, or 5 & 8lbs are great if you have some strength training experience.  If you’re doing the class on hard flooring, you might also want a mat or towel for when we’re on the ground.  If you don’t have weights, you can always improvise with soup cans, and body weight - exercises like lunges and squats are very effective without additional resistance!

What else do I need?

You’ll need a computer or iPad, or some device that allows you to access Zoom. I don’t recommend using your phone, just because it’s a bit small for this purpose.
